Gyro aim setup

Gyro aim turns the controller into a fine-aim layer over right-stick movement. Combined, they make targeting feel modern.

Why gyro

Right-stick aim is fast for gross movement; gyro is fast for fine movement. Combining them — gyro active while right trigger is held — gives you both without sacrificing speed.

Recommended settings

  • Activation: hold right trigger.
  • Mode: mouse-style on the right-stick axis.
  • Sensitivity: 1.4–1.8× of right-stick speed.
  • Vertical sensitivity: 80% of horizontal.
  • Recenter: click right stick.
  • Smoothing: light, not heavy — keeps fine input crisp.

Sensitivity tuning

Run a few minutes of normal gameplay before tuning. Start at 1.4×; if you find yourself overshooting, drop by 0.1; if you can’t reach targets at the edge of your motion range, raise by 0.1.

Per-platform notes

  • Steam Deck: configure via Steam Input — gyro is built in.
  • DualSense: enable motion in Steam Input or your config layer.
  • Switch Pro: native motion through Steam Input or platform driver.
