Dusk won't launch

Cause: Permissions, missing runtime libraries, or unsupported version.

First fix: Confirm your supported version, then re-run from a terminal to see the first error.

Disc image not recognized

Cause: Hash mismatch — Dusk cannot identify the file as a supported build.

First fix: Recompute SHA-1 on your own copy and compare to the supported list.

Black screen on launch

Cause: GPU driver, fullscreen mode, or display scaling.

First fix: Update GPU drivers, switch to windowed mode, then re-test.

Controller not detected

Cause: Steam Input vs system input collision, or driver conflict.

First fix: Disable conflicting input layers, then connect your controller.

Low FPS

Cause: Background load, unsupported settings, or thermal throttling.

First fix: Drop graphics settings one tier, then check thermals.

Audio issues

Cause: Sample-rate mismatch or output device change.

First fix: Set system audio to 48 kHz stereo, then restart Dusk.

Android crash

Cause: Storage permission missing or unsupported dump.

First fix: Grant storage permission and verify dump SHA-1.

Steam Deck issue

Cause: Gaming Mode launch options or controller layout.

First fix: Test in Desktop Mode first, then port the working config.

macOS permission issue

Cause: Gatekeeper / quarantine flag.

First fix: Allow the binary from System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Unsupported version

Cause: Your copy's SHA-1 doesn't match a listed build.

First fix: Confirm the hash, the region, and that the file isn't modified.
